Mel

My journey with nail art began years ago when I lived in a remote country town, far from any big city where I could easily get my nails done. After a rewarding career in banking and a surprising redundancy, (turns out I wasn’t quite ready to retire, as my hubby humorously pointed out!) I decided to pursue my passion and became qualified in Cert 3 in Nail Technology. As a wife, mother, and grandmother, venturing into a new career was definitely daunting, but I’ve never shied away from challenges. In fact, turning a beloved hobby into a new chapter in life has been both exciting and fulfilling, and I can’t wait to share this journey with you.

The evolution of nail art over the years has been truly remarkable. I find joy in expressing my creativity through nails, seeing them as more than just decorations but as an extension of one’s personality and a tiny canvas ready to be painted.

I love BIAB – Builder In A Bottle. If you like a shorter natural nail but need the added strength then this is your service, perfect for nail biters! Service includes cuticle care, hot towel, massage and one solid colour gel polish. And we can add nail art too!

It’s funny how my husband jokingly describes my new career as sitting, drinking coffee, and chatting with my girlfriends while holding their hands every day!. Truth be told, he’s not too far off the mark, but let’s keep that between us! I’ve put a lot of effort into creating a soothing atmosphere in my Capalaba nail salon, ensuring that my clients have a truly relaxing and rejuvenating ‘me time’. This is the first time I have had a pedicure in forever and the first time having a manicure where I actually walked out with wonderfully red painted short nails. Thank you, Mel, for your patience and explaining. It was such an enjoyable experience. I love that my short nails can still look so fabulous with this gorgeous red polish. I feel so very excited every time I look at my nails, this has never happened before. Excellent service.
